Heat Types

Choose Your Sauna Experience

Compare the most common ways to heat a sauna.

This Sauna

Traditional

The classic Finnish sauna, heated by an electric heater and stones.

150–195°FTypical temp
Dry to steamyHumidity
  • Electric heater warms the air and stones
  • Pour water on the stones for bursts of steam (löyly)
  • Usually needs a dedicated 240V circuit
  • Controlled by built-in dials or a digital panel

Infrared

Infrared panels warm your body directly instead of heating the air.

120–150°FTypical temp
LowHumidity
  • Gentler air temperature for longer sessions
  • Quick warm-up compared to traditional heaters
  • Electrical needs vary by model, so check the specifications

Hybrid

Combines infrared panels with a traditional heater in one sauna.

120–195°FTypical temp
Low to steamyHumidity
  • Switch between gentle infrared and classic heat
  • One sauna for different moods and users
  • Check electrical requirements for both systems

Wood-Burning

A real fire heats the stones for a traditional, off-grid experience.

150–200°FTypical temp
Dry to steamyHumidity
  • No electricity needed for heat
  • Crackling fire and natural wood aroma
  • Requires a chimney and proper clearances
  • Best suited to outdoor saunas

Why Sauna

6 Essential Sauna Benefits

More than a place to unwind. Here's what regular sessions can do for you.

  • Skin Health & Detox

A deep sweat helps clear pores and boost circulation for a healthy, natural glow.

  • Stress Relief

Heat and quiet time help ease tension so you can unwind and reset your mind.

  • Better Mood

Regular sessions can lift your mood and leave you feeling refreshed and energized.

  • Muscle Recovery

Warmth loosens tight muscles and eases soreness after workouts or long days.

  • Deeper Sleep

An evening session helps your body wind down, making it easier to fall asleep.

  • Heart & Circulation

Heat raises your heart rate much like light exercise, supporting healthy circulation.
